I bought this specifically to clean rugs and vehicle upholstery. Heavy to manoeuvre on short runs ( rugs were 2m X 1m) but did make an overall difference to the rugs, the dirty water indicated to me it was doing its job. It did not leave them too wet. Easy to fill and empty, connecting the hand tool took a few attempts and needed a strong hand but worked well once again I could see the difference between before and after. Overall I am pleased with how this works.

Couldn't be more satisfied, equally has good has the hired version. Carpets came up looking like new, very easy to use would highly recommend.
