Wow. I must confess I had very low expectations, given this is a ‘home’ model.
First thing I tried it on was our hallway runner just to make sure it didn’t do any damage etc. (usual precautions). Two sweeps over it and it was like new - had no idea it was so filthy as it’s only 6 or so months old & regularly vacuumed!
Second place we used it was the landing and that carpet came up like new too - plush, soft & bouncy like it used to be!
Last thing we used it on was our very expensive 5 year old mattress... despite having a mattress protector AND a topper, it had discoloured to a gross patchy yellow and we were considering needing a new one.
The upholstery attachment powered away dirt I have no idea how it could’ve gotten there and I was honestly a little disgusted at the colour of the water we ripped away!! From now on we’ll clean it once a quarter along with our carpets!
Last but not least, we have a stone floor throughout our kitchen & dining area - not the shiny smooth type, actual stone tiles. We tried a Kärcher which was useless as the rollers just caught every time but this thing absolutely bulldozed across the tiles.
I LOVE this machine and couldn’t be more pleased with our investment!
Things to bear in mind are:
1. The unit IS heavy, especially when the tank is full, but that’s because it’s a solid machine.
2. It’s not like rolling a vacuum cleaner back & forth - you’ll need a bit of effort but again, this is because it’s a solid bit of kit and needs that bulk to house the power
3. It WILL leave floors, upholstery & carpets damp after use because it gives everything a proper shampoo BUT our mattress for example, took approx. 4hrs to fully dry which frankly is great as far as I’m concerned! Obviously a professional machine would leave things drier but remember this is smaller & not as powerful as the ‘train engine’ hireable version!
I highly recommend this machine :-)
