Nifty Little Minimalistic Machine for Great Coffee

    4/5
As someone completely new to coffee machines this has been a brilliant upgrade especially considering the size and price point. I was previously a 'once in the morning' instant coffee (albeit with premium brands) drinker and this changed my habits due to how great the coffee is and how easy it is to use, with myself often tempted to have a decaff later in the day for that great taste without the caffeine kick. With the Aeroccino3 milk frother you also have an expanded number of drink options to choose from, I started off with reversos and mug drunks and am now making lattes and cappuccinos, sometimes with added flavoured syrups or even chocolate as a treat. Friends who've come over have been really impressed by the quality of coffee and are now considering getting their own or for Xmas gifts. Similarly, some others have responded to my Insta stories stating how delicious the coffee looks as well as the cool design of the machine. The Welcome pack of capsules is pretty good and has enough variety to let you decide what you prefer. It's also fairly easy to order more from the website with free next-day delivery if you spend a certain amount. The capsules themselves are made of aluminium and are fully recyclable, though I haven't used up enough to send back so can't comment any further, but it's great that waste is minimal. As great as the Pop is, there are some issues. The temp of the coffee coming out could be a lot hotter, even with the Aeroccino3 heated milk my drinks are just warm, not hot. In addition, although it is easy to use, the feedback/troubleshooting could be a lot better. The first time i tried to use the machine it dribbled a tiny amount of coffee with some residue floating in it. After some fiddling I realised it was because the water tank didn't have a full connection with the machine and needed to pressed with some more force. I would expect the machine to give an error and prevent use until the tank was properly connected, not to proceed with making coffee badly. The machine feedback is general is poor with just the button lighting up to indicate any issues, there is an accompanying app but that has it's own issues (e.g. for me it always shows my Pop as being locked position regardless of what position it's actually in). Lastly, the Vertuo barcode capsule tech is patented so there are no providers other than Nespresso, thus they can charge you whatever they like for your coffee. In summary, great look and design, and incredible coffee.

A great coffee machine…. But not the best

    3/5
From opening the box to brewing your first coffee this really is a premium experience! Having a selection box for you to try before you make your first purchase is a great idea! Especially seen as you can only buy the pods from the official store in quantities of 50 at a time and they are not cheap… (this is one reason I would not recommend) The coffee experience it’s self is perfect, freshly brewed coffee with a great taste! The machine is horrendously loud! You definitely cannot make coffee in a small flat without waking everyone else up! There are no settings it is all controlled by the machine, I do like the fact the app gives you warnings, my box was missing the water hardness seating strip, it tells you to pop into store to collect one (my closest one is nearly 250 miles away) The drip tray is completely pointless unless you are using an espresso cup, I cannot use my normal travel cup, because it is to tall, the machine is way too short

Good but expected better from Nespresso

I have mixed feelings about this machine, some days I love it and others not so much! It’s a slimline machine but takes up much more counter space than my other coffee machines, not a dealbreaker but nowhere near as compact as marketed. The instruction manual isn’t that helpful at all and find online videos far more helpful in terms of getting to grips with the machine. The machine is loud, not sure if this is average for Nespresso but I’m used to quieter machines. It does make the coffee relatively quickly and stores used pods neatly within the machine which is a feature I absolutely love. You can play around with the settings to add more water to the pods which is really helpful and means I always get coffee just the way I like it. I really do love being able to just add more water to an espresso so this is a great feature for me and one that I don’t have with my previous pod machine. I love the crema you get with the drinks as I don’t drink dairy so miss the froth you get with a cappuccino or latte. The machine came with some sample pods and was a great way to try a variety before making a purchase. I wasn’t aware at the time of purchasing this machine that it could only use the vertuo pods and not the original nespresso pods. You can only purchase the vertuo pods from nespresso, I don’t have a boutique locally so ended having to order online and had to order a minimum of 50 which wasn’t ideal. If the pods were more accessible I definitely would rate this soooo much higher.

This coffee machine is super sleek and easy to use. I absolutely love the dispose feature whereby it just drops out the pods into a hidden compartment. I thought noise level of this machine was acceptable, the look and aesthetics are perfect. I think this would be ideal for anyone who absolutely loves exploring various coffee flavours, and although I’m one of those people, the strength of the coffees in the set was simply too much for me! I must say it was great seeing Nespresso are doing their part in terms of recycling and providing a recycling bag in the box. I did not enjoy the coffees in the starter pack, for most part.

    Good product

Happy with this product Greatly packaged and came with a tasting box This product is perfect for the espresso lovers or those who have a frother already What I love more about this item is the pod recycling scheme, included is bag which you fill with your empty pods and follow their recycle scheme. The machine is fairly quiet and is ready to use within a matter of seconds, the only thing I dislike is the tray cannot hold a standard cup. It’s too small to house this therefore espressos are preferred here.

Having had the Nespresso vertuo plus, we bought this to replace it. I love this machine. It’s a much better design, it’s compact and makes incredible Nespresso coffee in a range of coffee sizes. The machine is quiet and quick and makes wonderful hot coffee so fast. The only downside to this machine is that you can’t put a standard size mug on the drip tray to catch the coffee which isn’t ideal. The variety of pods is fantastic and some great flavours but unfortunately you can’t use third party pods so it’s expensive for a coffee.

Take the time to understand how; to use the Nespresso Vertuo Pop Magimix , make the perfect brew and explore different recipes. The sample box is an excellent selection to help tailor individual tastes. So far my favourites are Costa Rica, Melozio and Bianco Leggero. Once you start to build your unique taste profile, the possibilities are endless! This is my first coffee machine and it is perfect for my needs. Drinking an average of 2 drinks a day the 560ml water tank is enough for; Mug (230ml), Gran Lungo (150ml), Double expresso (80ml) and Expresso (40ml). I prefer using hot milk otherwise found I end up with warm drink. This is where the Aeroccino 3 takes the spot light. You can make 120ml milk froth (whisk) or 240ml hot milk. The drip tray is only useful for expresso cups due to the height of the machine, which makes it pointless in my case. My preferred choice when brewing Gran Lungo (150ml) is the Reverso method. Make sure you use the right size mug, the Nespresso Gran Lungo Mug (265ml) is perfect for this. Start with making hot semi-skimmed milk froth (120ml) and pour into mug. Next brew the capsule (150ml) into mug, my favourites so far Costa Rica and Fortado. Finally sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Now enjoy!

Love it, easy to use with recyclable pods. Even better when combined with the aeroccino milk frother.
