Oven bulb massive problem
2/5
It cooks nicely, the hob works well, and is reasonably easy to clean, The oven cleaned on the P setting. Happy with that.
The oven light bulb went out after about 6 weeks, I ordered a box of 4 from Amazon, read the SMEG instruction booklet on bulb changing.... got a screwdriver, seems I was tucked behind the whole frame, not just the glass, it's where the screwdriver found, I was wearing a headtorch for visibility, which is what I wear in my day job as an Audi Master Technician, so the light frame is badly engineered, thankfully I noticed and forced the screwdriver in between the glass and the frame, when the glass popped out, the insulation crumbled to nothing on the floor of the oven. So that is now useless. I had to insert three bulbs before one finally stayed alive whilst refitting the rack support, which has to clip in somewhat violently (it's slightly out of alignment) causing 2 bulbs to blow. On the third attempt I literally treated it like a 5 week old kitten, and kept the bulb live. I notice that it's impossible to remove the glass with a screwdriver, as instructed without damaging the oven wall. I have been delighted with this appliance up until today, I accepted the bulb blowing so soon as one of those things.
