Very compact machine for cleaning small sections at a time. The small free bottle of cleaner ran out fairly quickly but Argos stocks a litre bottle. I think this works best on light stains, or new spills/messes. I tried to clean up an old large red wine stain on a pale carpet that had been "cleaned" with other chemicals without much success and I can still see the stain - will have a go again to see if it improves.
It's quite loud but that means good suction for getting the water back out, I found I needed to really press the nozzle hard into the carpet and go over the same spot a few times in different directions to get the water back out - so it's quite a work out doing a larger area.
When I first used it the water wouldn't spray but this was probably an airlock - keep holding the trigger and lift the machine up and down above the height of the hose to release it.
As mentioned by others the designer could have improved the method of measuring in water and cleaning solution - I measure into a jug and then pour in.
Good price for a small machine that I can store easily and do spot cleans, I like knowing the carpet has been "cleaned" rather than just using a can of carpet cleaner foam and hoovering it up later.
