    Great looking double oven

    5/5
I purchased this oven to replace my Double convection Oven which I have had for 18Yrs, so I was nervous when choosing a new one. I spent along time reviewing various ovens before making my choice. I am very happy with my new oven. It looks good and I love the controls that push in when not in use, so I'm hoping the numbers wont wear off (. My old ovens control knobs were on show, and the letters had worn away) I use the top oven most days. Which I have found very good .Its very quite and cooks very even. The top grill, takes a while to heat up, and I am not to keen on the exposed element, I had a couple of mishaps when I first started to use the grill, all the ovens I have had in the past had the elements enclosed. The full oven I use when I cook a family roast at the weekends. The convection oven, I have found needs to be on a higher setting than stated. The various cooking cycles are very good. The fitting was very straight forward. The oven is easy to clean, just a wipe with hot soapy water on top bottom and shelves, love the self cleaning liners.

    Good looking product

A very handsome oven. Nicely put together and finely finished with a good attention to detail. Good layout of the interior and the main oven has a couple of detachable rails which accommodate the meat pan provided. This means that you can simply pull the pan and it's hot contents out of the oven and then lift it off the rails or check in situe. Avoiding having to reach into the hot interior. Interior lighting is good. The only annoying design is the markings are printed on the actual retractable knobs and are quite difficult to read. Worse for people who may not be as tall as myself. The instructions are also well written and full of useful cooking hints and advice. Looks good when installed and is a replacement for another Hotpoint oven,m which served us well for nearly 10 years. Hopefully this will be as good.

I can not read the dials on the oven. Once fitted the dials are at a height where it's impossible for anyone under about 5'8 to read the dials. The temperature and oven settings are on the proud dial and the top can not be seen unless you are tall. I need to use a small step to see the dial or stand side on and guess the temperature, it's totally unsatisfactory

We bought this oven as part of a new kitchen to replace our old range. I have to say I love the eye level oven and it's really easy to use. The oven heats well and cooks evenly. Makes me realise how awful my old oven way ! I've used the slow cooker option which was great as was the defrost fan only. Great buy

I absolutely love my new oven in every way except one. It would have received five stars for every category except for the fact that I am not tall enough to read the settings. I am 5'4" and I simply cannot see the top of the dial. I have to stand at the side and try and guess when I have reached the required temperature/function. Otherwise, perfect!

Wide variety of cooking functions but controls could be slicker

    4/5
PROS This is a smart looking oven with a black glass finish. I like the fact that there are several different cooking types available, some of which I haven't had on previous ovens. I particularly like the "fan grilling" option which combines the main fan oven with a grill to give a rotisserie effect. As well as using this for joints of meat, it's also handy for cooking things like sausages as you can put them in the oven, close the door and they come out nice and browned without the hassle and mess of cooking them under a conventional grill. I like the metal handle which comes with the grill as it looks like it will be long lasting and easy to clean. I haven't used it yet but I'm looking forward to trying out the 'fan only' option which is meant to be good for defrosting delicate foodstuffs like cheesecakes. I think it could be handy for when you have people round to dinner and forget to defrost a pudding in time! CONS I'm not keen on the temperature control dial for the main oven which has no 'click' which makes it a bit vague when setting the temperature. The multifunction dial is also a bit clunky. It works fine but is not at slick as I would have expected it to be. (You can see both these controls demonstrated clearly in my video which accompanies this writen review).
