Pretty good but not perfect.
4/5
Had the machine less than a month so too early to provide a fully informed opinion about aspects such as reliability or how easy it might be to get repairs under warranty.
Pros: Very cheap in electricity use compared to the vented machine it replaced. Gets clothes dry without taking all day. Simple to use if you just use the AI programme on maximum dryness all the time. Came with a drying rack that fits inside the machine and dries without tumbling (this has proven useful already). Water tank easy to empty. 5 year warranty! This required registration online but easy to do. The door is reversible; luckily for us it was already the right way round.
Cons: The fluff filter feels cheap and fragile which is out of character with the rest of the machine. The heat exchanger is at floor level and set back into the machine a fair distance which makes it very awkward to get at for cleaning. Machine said the heat exchanger needing cleaning and after crawling around on the floor with a torch there was almost nothing to clean off the elements.
Meh: The ON and START buttons are almost invisible in certain lighting (like we have in our utility room) so I have had to add bits of tape pointing to them as they are also not at all tactile. Everything else lights up, why not these? This machine has 19 (nineteen!) different programmes, which feels unnecessarily complex... given this, the supplied 28-page paper user manual was very short on information on how to actually use the dryer (just 2 pages!); we had to download the online PDF 62-page version for proper instructions (in which there are 14 pages on how to use).
Overall pretty happy, the inconvenient heat exchanger doesn't need cleaning very often so we'll live with it. In essence it dries stuff, and does it pretty well.
