Good dishwasher with a few niggles.
4/5
This is a very good dishwasher, I'll hit the positives first and please read on for the negatives if you wish, they may even help you on your install....
OK this dishwasher is incredibly quite, as in you'll tell your partner off because you think they haven't put the machine on a cycle but they in fact have, this thing is quieter than my coffee machine...it is the most silent Dishwasher I've ever fitted.
Space is also massive, you'll spend two minutes putting bowls on the bottom rack and will have only got half way across! The top rack is so vast in space I could wash my snare drum on it! For us we converted from Teflon trays years ago to Pirex dishes so this top racks space is a great feature.
The machine has three spray arms which is amazing, also amazing is the top one is smaller than the others so if you have tall dishwasher safe drinks bottles you can put them on the outer fringes of that top rack...no more washing them by hand!
Washing cycles are diverse, and the quick cycle washes better than are old washer did over three tediously loud water consuming hours, it is quite something.
Controls are easy to use, clear and the sound it makes upon completion is perfect...soft but audible but wouldn't wake you up in the night.
Negatives (mostly install related)....
I'm a kitchen fitter&end user, install is not
easy but have had far worse, if getting an engineer involved you should be fine, Rear leg bolt for example doesn't thread in like the front two and just sits in it's hole, doesn't sound too bad but for me I just found this machine very short so I placed it on a spare section of worktop so as not to overly undo the legs, this meant that of course that rear leg kept dropping down and stopping the machine from going back, could be a one off fault but less than ideal from Samsung (not a huge issue but these issues do cost time when your trying to resolve them).
The stick on tape/film that is designed to protect the underside of your worktop from steam has the weakest adhesive I've come across and has been disposed of, we'll have to look for an alternative (again not a huge issue but definitely an inconvenience).
You'll need to be very careful with side fixing screws as they effectively go through a steel cavity and not loosing a screw in this cavity is not easy (I literally use thousands of screws every week and even I lost one down there!).
Now for the actual machine, cutlery basket may or may not be to your liking, kind of versatile but for us we like to use one side without the folding cutlery organiser, however we find that the central basket compartment is just way too big and almost needs sub dividing again as the knives and forks almost lay diagonally rather than upright...could be fine for you.
Really unless I wanted to go to town on this review that's it, overall a fantastic purchase and there's things about the machine that make us feel it's been very well built and should last a long time....even the waste hose looks futuristic .....that's right Samsung have got us enthused by waste hoses!
