Couldn''t figure how to use coiled foam/ rubber strip?

I purchased this oven and hob combination when my Gaggenau oven of 40 yrs packed in and parts were no longer available. I had to change the existing hob as appliances operate individually do not have a central button control for both units. The hob is great - easy to put in and off. It can heat up super fast and cooking is quicker and easier than before as us cleaning the appliance. Also, because it was a ceramic hob, I didn''t need to change my existing pots/ pans.The oven is more complex with 3 buttons for oven cooking, timer and temperature. It heats up faster than my previous oven and after getting used to the various settings, I am pleased that I chose this quality brand and I look forward to baking/ cooking especially with Christmas approaching.
