Tefal is a great make and I bought 2 cheaper models and had no joy everything about the product is spot on and for the price I paid WOW!

I purchased for the oil capture and filter feature for which it is great. They reason I did not give this a 5 star rating is the lack of depth of the oil on the pan due to the oil capture limit. It means batter frying a fish or other larger items will result in the batter catching the cage or the heater or both. Chips and other small items are fine.

Good quality, nice size for family, easy to use, makes lovely chips.

I've had 7 deep fat fryers in the past and this one is without doubt the best one by far. although other fryers may Fry the same as this one, what sets this one apart from the rest is the absolute ease of cleaning, in fact it cleans itself (almost) by filtering the used oil, this leaves you free just to wipe the bowl out of any bits that were left from the cooking process. this in itself stops the fryer from accumulating oily build-up. If you're lucky enough to have a dishwasher it all goes in the dishwasher apart from the heating element so you don't have to get your hands dirty at all. All I can say is if you buy this fryer you will not be disappointed.

Fryer is very easy to use. Reaches temperature very quick. The oil can be used many time due to the features to clean the oil.

I have been a user of fryers such as this for over 20 years and this is about my fifth or sixth. Keeping them clean and handling the oil has always been a problem, and this appliance addresses both of these. The strainer clears all the bits after use, and all the parts, except the control and heating element, can be put in the dishwasher. Earlier fryers could be similarly cleaned, but the fact that the oil can be filtered and drained, makes the task of keeping the parts like new much easier. The one thing I am slightly disappointed with is the design of the handle on the basket. It is a bit flimsy, and holds water after being washed, so has to be dried carefully. When in place it sticks out, so if you have a standard depth worktop there is a risked of it being caught or knocked when in use. It is not convenient to store the basket with handle in the fryer, so space has to be found elsewhere. The design of the heating element suggests pure engineering without any streamlining, and will have to be cleaned carefully. The other glitch I found was when reading through the instructions after opening the box and before using it, was that groundnut oil was not recommended. Since I have been using such oil for several years based on a chef's recommendation, I would have liked a better explanation of why it was not suitable in this situation. A trip to the supermarket to get vegetable oil delayed my enjoyment of lovely golden crisp chips for twenty-four hours!

I have a ready supply of fish. Tried every recipe I could but cannot beat battered deep fried cod. This makes the best deep fried fish ever. Cannot wait to try chicken. Easy to use and clean. Excellent product.
