Numatic Harry, happy as Larry !

    5/5
We are very pleased with Harry, and find him very easy to use. We have two J.Russells dogs who shed constantly and he copes admirably. No easy feat! The tools are a sinch to attach, when needed, abd these are all included in the price. The bag is easy to swap and no hassle at all. Don't let it put you off. Besides, its of a good size , so can hold a good lot before needing changing. His little wheels help Harry follow along with me so easily. I Love him.

Harry is on target in "most" areas

    4/5
Harry arrived in a fairly compact sized box with a simple user guide showing the initial set up. In some ways nice to have lots of photos which are very clear, though there isn’t a lot of text save for the end of the booklet. Filtration is via the bags (three spare bags with one pre-fitted to the machine) and a large diameter replaceable filter that sits above this (no mention of the recommended interval to change the main filter) Assembly is simple with a stainless steel bent end and tubes, the handle part has a filtered opening so you can reduce the suction if needed giving the cleaner effectively two power settings and reversing the handle lets you adjust the height. This model includes a turbo brush which is quite effective at pet hair removal, though I noted the bristles are spaced out a bit more than some others I’ve tried you might need to go over heavy hair areas a few times. Combination tool needs to be used at a lower angle so that the roller on the back contacts the carpet or hard floor, it worked well for most areas for short pile carpets the suction can make it a bit of a job to move it around dropping the suction helps (opening the valve) I might have added a few side rollers to help here. This isn’t a light unit at 8.5KG nor is it as heavy as some upright cleaners. The shape though works better than most compact cleaners with rubber bumpers all around and a large capacity dust bag which has a plastic tab to seal them shut when it’s filled up. Two front rollers make it easy to move around it’s not as cumbersome as I expected. Onto the power this is rated at 620 watts which is far less than my 1400 watt cleaner. Fortunately the new generation of motors are much more energy efficient and quieter. This out performs my cleaner and uses significantly less electricity whilst proving more suction power. I’m impressed with the power and refinement of the motor. A mention for the power LED this shows you it’s plugged in and “on” a simple feature but can’t count the times I’ve turned the switch on a cleaner with no power. Storage is slightly hindered by the lack of telescopic tubs the fixed ones are quite high and this is one place I might have gone with a different tube design. There are two storage slots on either side for the extender (which also lets you fit the attachments directly the to hose end minus the tubes), no place for the turbo it won’t fit into the central slot only the two in one hard/carpet tool. Filtration works well no signs of particles escaping or any odours. Cable length is a plus point this is 10 metres (hose length is 2.4m) I can easily reach other rooms without changing socket or the cars in the driveway. It’s a good 3-4 metres longer than most with a manual handle rewind. Overall it’s a solid hoover with good quality materials on the cleaner and accessories but could benefit from a few design changes such as the two in one tool and tubes I find the height a little off with both settings and would prefer to have more adjustment here. Would suit most home users or even a small office/shop.

    Harry HHR200A2

    3/5
I reguarly noticed Henry's cheery face in my workplace and knew he was a good worker I've always wanted one of my own but kept getting my head turned by the more popular, slim, lightweight vacuums! Last week however I literally jumped at the chance to get my hands on his green cousin Harry and see how he stands up to the daily routine in our house. So in the box there were two straight poles and a cuved pole, a tapered hose and a bag with an array of attachments. A crevice tool, a dusting nozzel, a multi use head with brush attachment and a tube adaptor which allows the use of the attachments direct onto the hose rather than one of the poles. There was also 5 spare bags in the box, each with a 9-litre dust bag capacity and a MicroFresh charcoal filter that sits on top to remove pet odours. Harry was relatively easy to put together without looking at the instruction manual - when I did have a quick look though I must say I didn't find it to be particularly informative anyway. I attached the standard head and switched on the machine to use on our living room carpet (the switch is just the on/off switch not the two level of power one found on a variant model). The suction was fantastic and i could actually see the carpet lifting as I pulled back towards me, however I really struggled and found it jumped - almost stuck in the carpet as I tried to push away again. Maybe I was using it incorrectly I'm not sure? The only way I could manage to vaccuum the floor was to pull back towards me, lift it up and put it back down adistance away from me again. This felt like a lot of hard work! The Hairobrush is the attachment Harry has in addition to the standard ones which come with Henry and Hetty. I was keen to use this, not for pet hairs but infact for mine! I am always shedding hair and it sticks out like a sore thumb on our cream bedroom carpet. The tool worked wonders and literally lifted them like magic, i was super impressed and it was a lot less hard work than using the standard brush. The only drawback (which I found out afterwards!!) is that my hair is now wrapped round the brush bar of that tool so I'm going to have to look at taking it apart to remove which doesn't look like an easy feat! The dusting brush is great for skirting boards and such like and the upholstery attachment and brush is just as good and worked fantasically on our matress. Overall I'm happy to have Harry in our home as an additional vacuum but I feel I would get very frustrated if I was to have him as our only vacuum. After using a cordless popular brand for sometime, I find the size of Harry and the extra effort needed to do a sweep of our living room carpet quite a drawback. It's a shame really as I know how many people swear by Numatic, but Harry just isn't really for me.

Harry hes is a little heavy but he is amazing!

    3/5
Numatic Harry HHR200A2 Bagged Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner with Pet Hair Removal, it's not as light as I would have imagined but the length of the suction tubing makes it easy to do the stuff like cleaning the stairs with out having to worry about the weight of it, I used it on the laminate flooring and the suction was very strong I had to move the bristles up and turn the suction down. It has many adaptors for different surfaces what I've used I love the pet hair adaptor on the sofa having a fabric sofa it works amazingly well and the suction with the right adaptor means only having to go over it once! The main body is easy to take apart and change bags , talking about bags there fabric non-reusable bags but there super fine and keep everything in. On the main body there's places to secure your extra attachments for ease of use and getting to whilst using the hoover. The fabric bags for Harry are brilliant and very good for people with allergens and generally the dust. The power lead is wind in manually and has a very good length on it. Storage is a bit of a pain as the flex hose isn't retractable , or sprung in anyway so the length you see it what you have to deal with for storage. As an overall hoover it is very powerful and has many usable attachments and perfect for a house with animals and regular use.

    Is this best Vacuum ever?

    5/5
Where has this vacuum been my whole life! Best Vacuum I've ever owned for picking up dog hair, easy to use, lightweight and quiet, even the dog didn't notice when I switched it on and he hates the Vacuum, not Harry though. Only slight negative is that the attachments don't fix to the vacuum and have to stored separately.
