Broke down in less than a year and Hotpoint won't repair

Worked as intended until it broke down a few weeks before its one-year warranty was up. Took two weeks for an engineer to come out. He said it needed a spare part and said Hotpoint would be in touch to arrange delivery and repair. One month later, they keep sending messages saying the part is not in stock and they will be in touch when it is. Hotpoint customer service is completely useless and can't tell me when the part will be in stock. Despite this product being within its one-year warranty period and having paid extra for the additional insurance policy for the last year, the dishwasher has been broken for more than six weeks Hotpoint won't repair or replace it. Since it broke within the warranty period, the insurance company won't pay out for a replacement, making the policy absolutely worthless.
