    Doesn’t last 12 months!!!

    1/5
Having purchased the hob less than 12 months ago, the pan grid has peeled and rusted… as it’s not a mechanical or electrical fault… this isn’t covered under the warranty. If I want replacement grids they are £79 each…. 3 required… or put up with an ugly looking hob… wish I’d have kept my CDA hob that was installed with my new kitchen, but decided to go with what I thought was a premium brand…. Steer clear!

Beware if not fitting over a 900mm base unit.

On the positive side, this is a stunning product and should be considerably easier to keep clean than the Electrolux hob it replaced. However the technical details published by the manufacturer are incorrect. The documents state that the minimum worktop thickness that this hob can be fitted into is 30mm. This is ONLY true if fitted over a 900mm base unit. Our hob was installed over a range of 600mm units and in this configuration, the only way the hob can be installed as intended is if the worktop is at least 38mm thick. Since our Silestone worktop is 30mm thick, it has been necessary to fit the hob more prominently that intended - although we had no option as it is only AEG hobs that share the same cutout size as the hob being replaced. If you have a worktop less than 38-40mm thick, beware, you may find the same problem.

High performance at a level you desire.

This model is the same as my old hob, however, the performance is much higher. It is much powerful, even if I cook on the lowest number it is very powerful compared to the old hob. The look is better and easy to use.

    An excellent hob

    5/5
Purchased as a replacement for an older AEG hob and a very aesthetically pleasing product. The pan stands are excellent and provide a safe cooking surface without any fears of the pan toppling over. The LED indicators showing the gas setting, together with the knob detents ensure that the correct level of cooking is selected. It also includes direct connection to suitable AEG extractor hoods so fan speed can be controlled directly from the hob. It also includes a timer function, handy for setting a cooking time if you're not in or busy doing other things. Extremely happy & impressed with the product

    Avoid!

Disappointing product. The main issue is it is very difficult to see which knob relates to which ring, the markings being dark on a dark background. It is also difficult to see at which number the flame is adjusted. All the numbers light up and the notch in the knob is hard to see; crazy that you have to bend down or lift the pot off to see the flame. And even then the flame intensity is tricky to adjust, eg. on simmer- it boils over. Fitting of the cast iron supports on the glass top is a bit fiddly. Checkout AEG reviews on Trust Pilot - they have refused my critical review and only publish the good ones. It all stinks and I would not only say avoid this product, but avoid the brand all together.
