Quiet and Spacious...
4/5
The Fridgemaster MC55251MDB 60/40 No Frost Fridge Freezer hasn't been in place long, so a fair rating can't really be given at this time. However, first impressions for me are very good. It is quieter than I expected, which is definitely a plus for this product. Its capacity is good, plenty of room for me, it holds a fair amount of produce if organised right. Of course, for a family of 4 or 5, that would be a little more challenging I think, but doable. The freezer section is also spacious, albeit a little less than I'd expected, which is fine for me as I keep most of my frozen stuff in a chest freezer.
I have a couple of groans though. I would have preferred that the doors opened from right to left, and although the doors can be adapted to do just that, it is nowhere near as simple as suggested to me when it arrived. Part of the procedure to do this, according to the user manual is to lay this thing down on its back! An appliance over 6ft tall, and to be attempted by someone living alone...that simply isn't going to happen. Why can't this procedure be made more customer friendly and make it much less of an ordeal to adapt? My second groan, which is far less of a concern than the previous one, but a groan nonetheless, is the water dispenser. It was easy enough to remove to clean for first-time use, although a little precarious, one wrong move, and the tank assembly is damaged. It is easily replaced though and easy to fill, however, the water that is dispensed even after a couple of days in place is not as cold as expected - not sure why that is as bottled water in the fridge compartment seems much colder. Anyway, the appliance looks good inside as well as out and does what it should for now, so overall, I am quite happy with it.
