My first Shark was an NV680UKT. It took 6 years of use ,( heavy cleaning after my cat) until gave up on me, so I got this new NV602UKT. These 2 sharks look pretty much the same but there are a few differences as well. The NV602 is much lighter, a little bit smaller and looks a little bit cheaper in every aspect comparing with NV680. I start vacuuming the day it arrived and I noticed very good suction on the carpet but on the hard floor not so impressed. On the old Sharkyou can adjust the suction power by rotating from left to right as much as you want , on this new you can only set it on min, max or middle, not very important let's say. The old NV680 had 2 distinct switches 1 for power on/off on the base and the 2nd swich for carpet/hardfloor on the handle very easy and comfortable to use.
I found these 2 switches combined on the new model NV602 and honestly I did not enjoy bending everytime I had to pass from carpet to hardfloor, so another minus. . The rotating brush is OK, hose length ok. For stairs and corners the attachments are OK the pet brush ok, cleaning under furniture was ok but... the pedal for detaching the middle part from the wand is a little uncomfortable to use : you had to stop and press the small pedal quite strong comparing with the old NV680 where you can do it smoothly and effortless. After vacuuming I usually clean my Shark by washing the little barrel of dust and hair. I found it easy emptying it , but (I don't know if I am wrong or not ) after washing there were some little spaces with dust and hair that didn't clean so well probably because I could not detach the plastic conic filter inside the barrel, so I had the feeling of an incomplete state of cleaning which will happen every time. I love this brand but if I had the choice of buying another Shark , between these 2 products I would definitely pick the NV680 not NV602. I just hope I'll have another 5-6 years with my new NV602.
