Time to replace veteran, but still working, appliance and after much consideration the RB38 was chosen. It is much larger, definitely very quite and pretty well laid out.
Set up and commissioning was straight out of the wrapper after removing all of the protective tape and a wipe down. After initial power on it only took about ½ hour to reach temperature and stabilise.
Decision was based on size, noise and the power rating and thus far it has met all of our expectations. We are yet to check the steady power consumption but initial indications are that it uses less than it's predecessor.
There is plenty of storage room in the door but make sure the fridge is properly levelled, as when loaded it is heavy and will either bang open or shut and can catch you out.
So far the only thing we are missing that would be a nice to have, would be the two drawers that Hotpoint used to provide to allow for separation of other food stuffs.
