A cut-price American fridge freezer
3/5
I bought this to replace a failing Samsung unit, and wanted to save some money over the price of a Samsung branded replacement.
You get what you pay for.
The shelves are not adjustable. The two lower door pockets in the fridge are too narrow for a standard 4 pint milk bottle.
There is no dedicated dairy section.
The most astonishing thing though, is that not only does the display pointlessly turn itself off after 60 seconds (so you don't know if the thing is still working) but it DOESN'T SHOW THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURE in the fridge and freezer, only the set temperature.
Having bought a couple of digital fridge/freezer thermometers (and checked them against a calibrated Fluke meter) I can see why. The temperature of both the fridge and the freezer varies by as much as +/- 4 degrees whether you're opening the doors or not.
Even with the thing tilted back well beyond the recommended angle, the doors won't self-close.
The chilled water is not very cold, especially compared to my old Samsung.
On the plus side, it looks smart and seems to run pretty quiet.
