Please read before you buy. I feel like a right tool for buying this but all i see if 5 stars and no one is talking about it. The appliance looks good but its downhill from there
This oven doesnt get up to temperature. I’ve had to buy an in-oven thermometer just to prove that I’m not going crazy. I set it to preheat at 200°c, and when the alarm goes off to tell me it’s done, I checked my thermometer and it’s actually 175.. It actually takes about 10 to 15 minutes after the alarm goes off to reach temperature. And to make matters worse, should you dare to change the temperature after the preheat has finished, there is no way for you to know that the oven is going up in temperature. It’s reached this new temperature there isn’t any indication. Any normal oven would have a light that tells you “Oh by the way I’m not up to temperature yet, but I will turn this light on, to signal that i’m working on it and when I have reached your new desired temperature, i will turn this off.” Furthermore, instead of supplying two usable wire trays, we get given some gimmiky spit roast attachment that no one nerds. My wife is pregnant, and im constantly on edge because not a single meal ive made has come out correct. Fish fingers come out wet and slimy, sunday roast took 3 hours (still not cooked); chip? Anaemic. The last thing i want to do is food-poison her and our first child. Going to have to sell this and it’s a microwave counterpart and just get a better brand but at least now I know never, ever to go hotpoint again I won’t even get started on their induction hob. From their customer service (who are quick to upsell you on subscriptions to fix their dodgy appliances and additional gimmicks you don't want instead of focussing on the issue at hand) to and product. Everything is subpar at best. I suppose its my fault for not going out of budget. Only 2 star because of 1 agent who was understanding, but the buck still lands with me.
