Switched from Vented Dryer to Heat Pump - No Regrets
5/5
I was really worried about switching to a heat pump dryer from our vented model. However the spiralling costs of electricity and improving our households energy rating made us go for this.
We have no regrets. The machine is easy to clean and maintain, emptying the water and filters is simple.
Our clothes have been completely dry, the machine adjusts the timings as it goes through the cycle to ensure this. We have continued to wash full loads of cottons as we normally would in our busy household of 5, and today completed a King Size Duvet Cover, sheet and pillow cases all with no problem.
There are a couple of important points to note with these dryers.
1. Do not open the door during the cycle / you disrupt the whole working of the machine and completely set the heat pump cycle back - peeking in here to check will cause havoc! so we never open the door once it’s started.
2. Expect it to take longer than a vented model, but we are not talking hours & hours longer -just prepare yourself and be patient, be reassured it’s costing you so much less to run, it’s more a consideration of fitting this in within the practicalities of your household.
